Hi friends,
We have many amazing programs here at NC State. However, I must admit that my favorite is the Andrews Launch Accelerator (ALA).
In case you are new to our community, ALA was the product of the vision of Chip Andrews and Lyn Andrews. The premise was that if we could help founders opt into their vision with resources and some capital, then big things could happen.
Since then, 16 companies have received funding, with most still in business and generating over 2 MM in revenue in 2020 despite the pandemic.
That may sound overwhelming, but most of these companies started with just an idea and the hopes that they would get the support to make it happen. If you are a student contemplating an idea for a company, or have a side-hustle that you think is promising, we are here for you.
If you think you are a potential founder who would consider the Accelerator, take the leap and access the accelerator info here or shoot me an email and I can help determine if the Accelerator is a good option for you. I'm here to help and no question is too dumb. It's my job to help you make your dream a reality.

Top 5
✅ I like to share this one every time the Accelerator comes around. A good fit for tech founders. But if you're not in that category, don't sweat it. Building a good business in any industry from services, to consulting, to car repairs, you name it, has other measures of success. However the principle is the same: start a company because you just feel like you have to. Watch “How and Why to Start A Startup”.
🎯 A couple years back, a friend was telling me about this startup he joined. I didn't understand a word of what he said. 5 years later and a failed acquisition after. What seemed like a ‘boring’ company back then, ended up being the most fascinating fin-tech unicorn out there. A reminder that some of the most valuable companies look boring but make our lives way easier. See what I'm talking about in “Inside Plaid's Pricing Strategy”.
🦄 Ah, growth…That thing we all talk about but have no idea how to achieve. With the goal of keeping it that way but at least giving us a couple new talking points, Lenny brings us “Content-driven Growth”.
🌴 Community is becoming one of the most hip ways to build a business. Build an audience, nurture it, monetize. We actually had one of our founders do this successfully during our last accelerator. Slack, Circle, Geneva are some of the companies that enable this, but Reddit and FB were the OGs. Take a look at the “KPIs for the community-driven model”.
🚘 No idea, no team, no time. But still want to try entrepreneurship? (and apply to the Accelerator). Then here are “5 ways to test demand for your product before building an online store”. Most times that is all you need. Just test creativity and become an owner. It's easier than ever, all it takes is a little bit of interest.
