Evidence: Papa > Dominos
Happy Thursday,
In one of the most relevant tests I've run, I decided to have a pizza competition for the Super Bowl. So three pizza experts (you could say) gathered and decided to judge Domino's and Papa John's. The criteria was speed of delivery, consistency, and overall flavor richness. The two pizzas were ordered at exactly the same time and similar toppings.
The results:
1- Papa John's delivered 15 minutes faster than Domino's.
2- At moment of consumption Papa John's consistency was warm and ratio of ingredients to surface area was far superior to Domino's.
3- Papa John's quality of ingredients was more than noticeable. Flavor balance was there and so was texture. Bonus point in this category to Domino's crust in terms of independent flavor.
Judges gave Domino's and overall 6/10 and Papa John's 9/10 in the category of fast-food pizza delivery options. The only reason Papa John's didn't make a 10 was it lacked complexity in sauce flavor.
In case you wonder, all judges thought Domino's would win before the test, so no bias.
There it is. Case closed.
Thought of the day:

TOP FIVE
🚀Product Discovery / There are many reasons companies fail. But lack of understanding customer realities comes on top. Many times it's because founders don't have the right framework. A lot has been written on this topic but GLIDR takes a stab in connecting the dots in "What is Product Discovery and Validation?".
👍Presentations / In College, we all go through presentation hell. Professors who are horrible storytellers, and group presentations that we don't get any coaching on. In an ideal world, I'd add presentation coaching on a regular basis to all classes from computer science to business. I would demand two workshops for employees at any company on an annual basis. Ok, that's my rant on presentations; I'm not good at them either. Something that helps is going back to the basics, so check out "How to Give a Great Presentation: Timeless Advice from a Legendary Adman, 1981".
🏅Thinking Physically / Merging themental with the physical. How to maximize output by creating a world of interaction with your ideas. Check out Kickstarter founder on the topic "Thinking Physically with Yancey Strickler".
🦄 Product-Market Fit / Another topic discussed on a daily basis. It's like a unicorn that you only know you have when you actually have it. Lenny dives deeper into Product-Market fit and combines known advice on the topic in "How To Know If You've Got Product/Market Fit".
📈Benedict Evans / Evans, partner at a16z, showcases his annual macro-trends and peaks into the future. Find the presentation here.
