HOMEWORK: Watch 13th
Happy Thursday,
We have life, business, and jobs to cover today. Let's do it.
Thought of the day:
“Our work is never over”
― Kanye West
TOP FIVE
1-Netflix / I'm not much of a Netflix person anymore. I spend more time scrolling than actually finding what to watch. But last night my girlfriend convinced me of watching "When They See Us". In another magistral work, Ava DuVernay made me cringe, enraged, and activated my sense of social responsibility. Please, if you haven't, watch the first episode today. I promise you that you'll look at the world differently tomorrow. Hopefully, for the better.
2- Boss / Friend and mentor, Bill Spruill, took to LinkedIn to share his latest view in "Bias is Alive and Well". Bill's point is critical. We need to fight racism head on to build businesses and communities that work for all of us. That's what success is. We're all biased, so let's accept it and just ask ourselves "how are we biased?" and fix it.
3-HEY? / Do you still follow @DHH on social media? Me neither, but the guy keeps popping up on my Twitter feed. As the founder of Basecamp, he's always been against the Tech establishment (this time the fuzz was around Apple's rules). In the latest company move, they aim to reinvent email with their new product: HEY. Nathan went ahead and broke down HEY's offering. You can read the Strategy piece in "Will HEY work?".
4- DigiHome / In another startup coming out of NC State, GrepBeat covers DigiHome. The team is tackling the convoluted challenge of managing the home building process by gathering forms and docs throughout the journey. Check out "DigiHome Gives New Homeowners One Less Thing To Worry About".
5- Zoom Tips/ Ok, avoid the overload and follow these "Zoom Remote Work Tips".
